Word is, Nikon will announce something on September 1st. No word if it’s the D200 or another product, but one certainly hopes so. Unlike the Canon 5D situation, there’s been no strong rumors concerning the Nikon D200. I usually lazily keep tabs on these things (I have no idea why), and most of what’s out there is wild speculation.
That said, the most plausible things I’ve heard are:
- 1 feature not fully seen in other DSLRs (I’m willing to bet live image preview on LCD)
- 10.8 MP APS-C sensor
- 9 AF points
- Magnesium alloy body
I guess the last two points are self-evident.
Update: Darnit, looks like I’ll be off by 0.6MP :~) Also…maybe a CCD sensor?
