I didn’t go to see Kristjan and Paul play on Friday at Conrad Grebel because I “had to study”. And, so I studied.
During Gradball I realized just how many opportunities I’d missed as a result of those three words. Most I have no regrets about – your priorities determine what you can afford time for. It wasn’t the case here; I felt I’d made a bad decision in not seeing Kristjan, Paul and their band-mates play. I won’t see them after this term and I’d passed…
I asked Kristjan about the event and he pointed me to their band website – Five Point One Jazz Quintet – with the news that their debut album was online in mp3 format. I’ve been running through the songs all morning and all I’ll say is:

They’re an amazingly talented group and I can’t stress just how much I enjoy what they’ve done. Kudos to these guys – I can only imagine the amount of work they had to have put in on top of classes to get here. That’s quite an accomplishment! Hopefully I’ll get a chance to hear Kristjan and/or Paul play in the future…
